Throw Pillows from Throw and Co.

You never can have enough pillows – just ask my husband who has to search through the rows on our bed each night to find his favorites.   I love how they help to bring all the odds and ends together in a room and also offer the opportunity to infuse your distinct personality.  Throw pillows have a special way of transforming an otherwise fantastic room into perfection.  At Throw & Co.  there is definitely a pillow for everyone!  The colors are really vivid and the patterns have a classic modern infusion.  Happy Shopping!

Hadleigh’s Bespoke Slippers

Slippers are definitely the shoe craze and how cute are these from Hadleigh’s - a Bespoke clothing boutique started by husband and wife team Ed and Gable Shaikn that, prior to moving to Dallas’ Highland Park Village shopping center, was completely sold and run through the pool cabana at the couple’s home.   We are loving the gray colors and think that a pair of these timeless, customizable slippers are perfect for Fall.  Best part, they make these beautiful shoes for Men and Children.  (For those of you not in the Dallas area, the slippers are now sold online at department stores like, Neimans and Bergdorfs).

Toast Tech Covers for the iPad

Market Square Musings last featured Toast’s fly-fishing iPhone cover in June.  Since then the company has been hard at work creating its latest design – covers for the iPad!  Toast laser cuts and etches each elegant wood veneer for the iPhone and now for the iPad.  The veneers are beautiful, natural, customizable covers that add protection without adding bulk.  Backed with a great 3M adhesive, they are removable and reusable. All Toast products are crafted in Portland with renewable energy and we donate 1% of our sales to protect and restore our planet.
Toast’s online store, www.Toastmade.com, allows you to add custom text to your veneer or even submit your own artwork or logo for custom etching.  They are continuously adding new original designs and recently added bamboo to their list of wood choices.  And, for the lucky ones who will be purchasing the new iPhone 5 soon, Toast will have iPhone 5 covers available for purchase next week!

Lisa Cotten at The Lake Forest Shop. September 25th – 26th. Don’t Miss!

We are so excited that one of our favorite jewelry designers is coming to Lake Forest! Lisa Cotten has been creating the most beautiful bobbles since 2005. Her collection has been featured at Material Possessions in Chicago and Maze Home in Winnetka and is debuting at The Lake Forest Shop this Fall. We can’t wait for her trunk show on September 25, 26 – We promise, it is a show that you will not want to miss. Mark it down in your books, girls!

Lisa’s studio is in Winnetka so of course we love supporting a local gal. Amazingly, this former model and mother of four has found the time to create an stunning collection designed with the finest precious stones sourced from Thailand, India, Brazil and beyond.  You are sure to fall in love with the line. I especially adore the Bubble Rings and Europa Hoop earrings and Rings. Oh, and I’d love the blue Indra Collection Earrings too. Honestly, anything in her line is fabulous for day and night – everyday and special occasion. Which makes it totally a smart purchase!

See you at Lisa Cotten’s Show at The Lake Forest Shop on September 25 and 26th!

On My Wish List. Maggie Meiners Photographs.

One of my favorite things to find on other blogs are new artists, photographer’s, painters, sculptures etc. Creative people making beautiful images that I might not have ever known about had it not been for that particular post.

Maggie Meiners, a local photographer, just happens to be one of our very favorites. She has been showing her photographs for years in and around Chicago but her most recent exhibit was undoubtably the best in our minds. The images took my breath away. They have the perfect combination of vivid colors, a little sparkle and a touch of mystery. Every image has an undeniable nostalgia. She tells a story but leaves us wondering. Each piece has classic elements but with it’s own quirky twist.

A Maggie Meiners photograph is surely on my Christmas list this year (Mom, Joe…are you reading?). I’d really love the entire series but one would do me just fine. Wouldn’t the tennis player be fabulous in an otherwise formal dining room? Kiddy Cocktails is just the thing for a bare living room wall, right?

Everyone has empty space in their house just waiting for the perfect thing. I think you’ll find Maggie’s images fit perfectly in any happy home.

You may remember we also love Maggie’s silhouettes.
