If you are hosting a large group of people and looking for a great recipe to feed them all, or you are planning ahead and want to have a yummy, savory meaty sauce on hand for busy school nights, this is the recipe for you. This recipe is another reason to love Fall!
6 to 8 slices baconBrown:
24 Ounces Ground Beef (or blend of Meats, if desired)
1 large Onion
2 ribs celery, chopped
Season salt to taste
1(18-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1(14-ounce) jar artichoke hearts (optional)
1(14-0unce) can italian style stewed tomatoes
1(6-ounce) can tomato paste
1(2-ounce) can sliced black olives, drained (optional)
1 cup red wine
2 t black pepper
1 t oregano, crushed
1 t basil, crushed
1/2 t (or more!)ground red pepper
1 bay leaf
For one hour or to the desired consistency, stirring occassionally.
Occassionally to make sure you have desired seasoning.
The bay leaf and spoon the sauce over pasta of your choice.
Don’t forget the Parmesan Cheese!
