Market Square Food Company

Everyone has a favorite cookie… these are mine!  I just cannot get enough of them.  They are like an Animal Cracker meets Butter Cookie.  So crispy and delicious and come in three flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Chocolate Chip, Cinnamon and even Cheddar Cheese.  And, look at the amazing packaging!  There is literally a package for every occasion.  What little boy or girl wouldn’t love a Fire Engine or Train packed with delicious cookies?  So cute as the center piece on a themed birthday party table or to give out as favors!  But, these cookies aren’t just for  kids.  My kids have to hide these cookies from me.  I challenge you to eat just one box!

Market Square Food Company is also a local company, founded in 1982 by James L. Lockhart and his son David, residents of Lake Forest, IL. Their goal was to provide a superior food product packaged in a unique upscale format. The company has grown steadily over the years because of a singular dedication to maintaining both food quality and their competitive advantage in package design.  Mission Accomplished!

To order these delicious cookies and to find out more about Market Square Food Company check out the site here.  If you can’t wait for your order and need to purchase some right now, you can find them at Barnes and Noble Old Orchard and Lincoln Park, Nordstrom E-Bars, Fox & Obel, The Daily Grind LB, Food Stuffs and HomeGoods.

Caftan Craze.Thank you, ShellKare!

ShellKare’s embroidered caftan’s and billowy blouses are on the tip top of our wish lists this summer.

The linen caftans are reminiscent of those in Slim Aaron’s photographs. They are essential for tossing over a bathing suit on beaches from the Midwest to St. Barts. We are particularly fond of Audrey, Gigi and Kate. They love flip-flops for everyday and to be tossed over jeans with a wedge heal for dinner.

Thank you, ShellKare for offering a very generous 20% discount to friends of Market Square Musings (Promotion Code Crazy20). This special treat is only until June 7, 2012…So get to shopping! www.shellkare.com

TGIF – What’s Better Than Confetti…

Confetti Glasses!  Just as you cannot have enough serve ware during the summer, you can never have enough glasses.  We love these confetti glasses from Anthropologie.   They would be perfect paired with your favorite margarita recipe.  Or, try one of our favorites –   the Watermelon Margarita.

3 cups fresh seedless watermelon pulp
1 cup fresh lime juice
2 cups simple syrup
1 1/2 cups premium silver tequila
1/2 cup triple sec
3 cups ice

Place watermelon in a bowl and use a potato masher to extract as much juice as possible. Transfer pulp and juice to a pitcher and add lime juice, simple syrup, triple sec and tequila. Stir. Add 3 cups of ice and refrigerate
for 30 minutes. Stir and serve over ice.
